Qigong is the grandmother of Tai Chi. It is a gentle form of exercise incorporating movement, breath work and self massage originating from ancient Chinese healing. Qigong is good for improving circulation, flexibility, balance and stress levels. Are you new to qigong and want to know more about this ancient wellbeing practise? Perhaps you’ve been to some of my classes and are keen to explore?

I love qigong because it’s so simple and so varied; so many people can get something out of it. It has been practised by millions of people in China for centuries and is still an important part of a daily health practise there. Qigong looks like gentle mindful movement and is very calming.

The lineage my main practise and training comes from is that of Master Sifu Wing Cheung. Through him and his trained teachers, I have studied the Shibashi sets which are excellent for all around health and wellbeing and are graduated in the level of fitness and strength required.

I am also a big fan of Robert Peng for the way he and his practise exudes childlike joy and incorporates seasonal changes in our bodies and minds so well. I also really like Flowing Zen with Anthony Korahais for the clarity of his teaching and his focus on overcoming depression and trauma. I have taken courses with both these teachers.

Enjoy your Qigong!
